Year 2017-18 was the Birth Centenary Year of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji. It won’t be exaggerating to say that right from his childhood till the heavenly abode and 10 years after the departure of Maharishi Ji, these 100 years have been very important for the time cycle-for world history.

Born on 12th January 1917 in Panduka village of Raipur in Madhya Pradesh (now capital of Chhattisgarh State), His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji, the most dedicated disciple to Shri Guru Dev Swami Brahmanand Saraswati Ji, Shankaracharya of Jyotirpeeth, Badrikashram Himalaya, is widely regarded as the foremost scientist in the field of consciousness and is considered the greatest teacher in the world today.

Over fifty five years ago Maharishi Ji’s infinite love drew him out of isolation in the Himalayas to relieve the world from suffering, to provide people joy and peace and to create Heaven on Earth. Having learnt from his Guru Dev, Maharishi Ji completely revived and restored, ancient Vedic Science that is capable of creating perfect life and guiding individuals to the path of Enlightenment.

Maharishi Ji has completely restored the thousands of years old scattered Vedic Literature for the total significance of its theory and practice and has organized it in the form of a complete science of consciousness. Maharishi’s Vedic Science and Technology unfolds the full potential of Natural Law in human consciousness as the basis of improving all areas of life. The Transcendental Meditation programme, the subjective technology of Maharishi’s Vedic Science and Technology is the most widely practiced and extensively researched programme of selfdevelopment in the world. Over the past forty-seven years, Maharishi Ji has established a worldwide movement in more than 100 countries offering the knowledge and practical programmes of Maharishi Vedic Science in all areas of life.

Maharishi Ji never called himself a Guru or never asked any one to address him a Guru. Throughout his life Maharishi Ji was saying ‘Jai Guru Dev, All Glory to Shri Gurudev Swami Brahmanand Saraswati Ji’ and dedicated all his achievements in the lotus feet of his Master. The whole world has honoured Maharishi Ji as greatest teacher of Vedic Science and a historic Vedic Jagadguru. Maharishi Ji has made a very significant place in Vedic Holy Tradition. No such other example of spiritual exponent is available in the world.

With the inspiration on the subtle level of the Self (atma), we have offered our humble feelings to the lotus feet of Maharishi Ji by organizing 100 conferences on Maharishi Ji’s philosophy, and gift of Vedic knowledge with technologies so that generations to come are benefitted in perpetuity with his divine inspiration and blessings to bring “Heaven on Earth.”

This gives us great pleasure and satisfaction that eminent citizens of all walks life attendant these conferences and received the eternal knowledge imparted by His Holiness Maharishi Ji with great enthusiasm.

This indeed is great pleasure for us that this book which is a pictorious report of the conferences took place country wide, is being released for the information and joy of all.

Birth Centenary Year
Inaugural Celebration at Delhi

Under the divine presence of Jyotishpeethadheeshwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj and Brahmachari Girish Ji, Hon’ble Chancellor of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic University, Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of Culture and Tourism, Govt. of India inaugurated the Birth Centenary Year of great son of India, a realised soul, greatest scientist of consciousness in the world, global administrator and saint His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji, on 12th January 2017 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium New Delhi. Many Hon’ble dignitaries, Vedic scholars and large number of students along with their teachers and parents also graced this grand occasion. Brahmachari Girish Ji in his keynote address said “Maharishi Ji has announced ‘Gyan Yug ka Uday’ (Dawn of Age of Enlightenment) forty years back. Now Gyan Yug has reached at the centre of sky. We all know that when the sun is in the middle of sky, it showers its rays simultaneously everywhere and on everyone equally at that time”

He has further said “we want to make India Jagadguru again so that everyone feels completely secured under the umbrella of total knowledge required for life. Maharishi Ji gave absolute theories on many aspects of life, which are required to manage a peaceful, prosperous, progressive, enlightened and invincible life. Incidentally today is birth day of Swami Vivekananda Ji also. Vedic Principles promoted by Swami Ji were brought in to practice only by Maharishi Ji. Maharishi Ji really brought Indian Vedic knowledge, traditions, values and techniques to the world family. Millions have benefitted. Now it is the responsibility on us in this generation to acquaint all the citizens of the world with this knowledge and Maharishi Ji’s programme.”

Brahmachari Girish Ji announced many programmes to be organised country wide and in 30 other countries in 2017–18 by Maharishi Organisations. Also 100 conferences all over India on the subject “ Perfection in life” and Yagyanushthan will be organised in all main centres of pilgrimage-Teerth with the sankalpa of peace, prosperity, perfect health, enlightenment for all citizens and invincibility to all nations. 1000 camps for Yog and Transcendental Meditation will also be organized.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Sarasvati Ji Maharaj said “Maharishi Ji has given us the power to acknowledge the inner strength. He taught us how to meditate scientifically and control the inner being.”

Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of Culture and Tourism, Govt. of India said “it is not important that what we received in inheritance but it is important that what we have given to the next generation in heritage. He recalled the golden time spent in the august company of His Holiness Maharishi Ji. When he met Maharishi Ji, the later asked him to serve as doctor to take care of the inmates of the Ashram. As at that time he was not having enough money, he asked ‘what I would get as fees’. Then Maharishi Ji told that he himself will train me to practice Transcendental Meditation and Yog. He has given so much to me in the life. He has made me so competent that whatever I am today is the result of that.”

Dr. Sharma further said “many people follow the foot prints of others but there are only few who make the foot prints. The whole world is following the foot prints of Maharishi Ji. Maharishi Ji has bequeathed so much in heritage that if we only follow the path shown by him, our life will not only become happy but the whole society will also be very peaceful and prosperous. Today is the 100th birthday of Maharishi Ji, I devote myself to that divine soul who has devoted his whole life in service of the mankind.”

Raja Harris Kaplan, the Raja representative of Maharishi Global Country of World Peace for India said “We are here to celebrate the Birth Centenary of Maharishi Ji, who gave the knowledge to live in accordance with laws of nature”.

National Spokesperson of Bhartiya Janta Party Shri Sudhanshu Trivedi also graced the event with his presence. He said, “I am feeling really proud to be part of this auspicious occasion. Guru Ji has given us the way to meditate in a scientific way”.

Not only Spiritual Gurus and Maharishi Ji’s disciples celebrated the auspicious day, but groups of accomplished students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir schools from all over India like, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh, also performed cultural programme to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji. One of the students from the MVM school in Kerala said, “We feel proud to be a part of the auspicious day and feeling overwhelmed by performing in front of great personalities. I am very lucky to be a part of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group.”

Another student from Hyderabad said, “Transcendental Meditation gives us inner strength to feel good and light when we are in grim situations. TM makes us so relaxed and strong that we are able to face any kind of problem”.

Brahmachari Girish Ji concluded that he was confident that in the Maharishi Birth Centenary Year, the teachings and ideals of Maharishi Ji and Indian Vedic eternal life supporting knowledge will enthuse the students and all other citizens of great country-India with new motivation and energy. With this knowledge, people will be able to choose the right path in their life and by following Maharishi Ji’s ideal that ‘Life is Bliss’, all will strive to translate the vision “Heaven on Earth” of Maharishi Ji, into reality.

On this auspicious occasion beautiful and unique Maharishi wall and table calendar of 2017, Diary of 2017, beautiful book on His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji were released by all present dignitaries.
